The names of the victims in the horrific Tumbler Ridge mass shooting have been released by the British Columbia RCMP, confirming the worst fears: eight lives were brutally taken, including six innocent children between the ages of 11 and 13.

Police have since confirmed that two other individuals are in critical condition in the hospital.

BC RCMP released the names and photos of most of the victims Thursday night. The release included personal statements to “honour the lives lost” in the tragic incident, which “shattered the hearts” of many in Tumbler Ridge, B.C., a town with a population of about 2,400.
