British Columbia’s labour market took another hit in March, with tens of thousands of jobs lost and unemployment climbing to its highest level in nearly a decade.

New figures released by Statistics Canada show the province shed 19,200 jobs last month, following significant losses in February. The unemployment rate rose by 0.6 percentage points to 6.7 per cent, marking the highest level since early 2016.
