The Lower Similkameen Indian Band launched a petition to stop the expansion of Hudbay Minerals’ Copper Mountain Mine in British Columbia, citing the “goals expressed in UNDRIP,” the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, adopted by the provincial government last year.
