A family living in Pitt Meadows, B.C., says it must flee Canada due to safety concerns following a brutal attack captured on camera.
Surveillance footage shows a businessman, John Ling, being beaten just steps away from his front door by two masked men armed with baseball bats on September 26.
His wife attempted to intervene but the attack continued until the men take off.
Ling’s daughter and dog can also be seen running away during the incident.
The surveillance footage, shared by Ling’s lawyer Russell Robertson and Global News, also appears to capture a third suspect placing an item underneath the family’s vehicle, which the man’s lawyer and police deemed to be a “tracking device.”
Robertson told Global News his client is “upset” and has a suspicion about what may have motivated the attack but no further details were provided on what those suspicions were.
Instead, Robertson hopes that by sharing the video, someone with information might come forward.
Despite the video being made public, to date, no one has been charged, no suspects have been identified, and the police investigation continues.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.
