In a special episode of the ‘Candice Malcolm Show’, Candice sits down with interim Leader of the BC Conservative Party, Trevor Halford, on the eve of the BC Conservative leadership race.
First, Candice and Trevor discuss the BC NDP’s hostility towards private sector business in BC and how it’s making life more expensive for British Columbians. Halford explains how David Eby the NDP have grown government and regulation, making it harder for small businesses to grow and prosper.
Next, they discuss the state of private property rights in BC, following groundbreaking indigenous land claims court rulings that have shaken the foundation ownership in BC. How has BC Premier David Eby handled the crisis, and to what extent is Eby himself part of the problem? Halford explains how the BC Conservatives have called for the repeal of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) passed by the NDP. And to what extend do land acknowledgments send the wrong message and undermine true reconciliation?
Then Candice and Trevor talk about the fight for pipelines in Canada, and how David Eby is working to obstruct a new West Coast pipeline that a majority of Canadians support. Do Eby and the BC NDP just have a hostility to resource development projects in general, and what does that mean for the province?
Finally, Candice and Trevor tackle the wave of crime and public disorder facing BC communities. As British Columbians see increasing homeless encampments and public drug use, what can be done to turn things around? And how has David Eby’s far left ideology, which has pushed experiments like drug legalization and so-called ‘safe’ supply’, failed BC families?

Very nervous about the B.C. Conservatives.. most are Liberals that were turfed in favour of Conservatives. I would only vote for someone who is a declared true Conservative and never ran for the Liberals. Christy Clark put the nail in the coffin of the Liberals before the NDP buried this province. There's alot of doubt about any party. I'd join Alberta and Sask. in their quest to get the hell out of a deranged country.
I wish the interim leader had been asked where the Conservatives stand re a) the forced densification of municipalities and b) the federal government’s decision to go directly to municipalities on federal infrastructure funding.
