Bank of Canada acknowledges disconnect between inflation data and daily experiences

Consultations conducted by Canada’s central bank found a growing disconnect between inflation data and the actual price of goods.

According to the new report, trust in the Consumer Price Index has been diminishing due to official inflation data failing to mirror the daily experiences of Canadians, which by extension has eroded trust in the Bank of Canada.
