Avi Lewis says he's in no rush to find a seat in Parliament

The new NDP leader will instead spend his time meeting with labour leaders across the country to rebuild the party.

A day after winning 56 per cent on the first ballot at an NDP convention, NDP Leader Avi Lewis said he was in no rush to find a seat in the House of Commons but would be working on rebuilding the party.

The NDP’s new leader, Avi Lewis, wasted no time outlining his agenda in his first media appearance on Monday, promising to accelerate the end of Canada’s oil and gas industry while championing left-wing populism and opposing Canada’s key allies.
