The Quebec government may reconsider its electrification strategy after electric vehicle manufacturer Lion Electric, the recipient of nearly $200 million in taxpayer subsidies, nears liquidation.
There is a truly MASSIVE construction project currently in progress in St. Thomas Ontario. It is supposed to be a VW battery plant for electric vehicles, funded in large part by our provincial and federal governments. I honestly can't believe that construction is continuing in light of all of the reports like this article. Well, I guess I can believe it, this is government we are talking about. They will no doubt continue to pour our money into the project and see it through to completion before finally admitting that it was unfeasible, and then blame Trump. It will probably be turned into low income housing.
Yes Quinn, government has no right to be poking their nose into any business. As time and time again, it's been proven to be a big waste of taxpayers money and a waste of time. And this case is a replica of the city of Edmonton electric bus deal. Now forgotten by city council and most people. MPs and MLAs should have to take a training course and sign a contract of guarantee before being allowed to run for office. It's Harper's fault, and Trump's fault............
Who would Legault blame if Trump wasn't around? He won't be around in less than four years time. Lion was too busy supplying the provincial government via the Ministry of Education with its self-immolating buses to be seeking to sell any to the States if that is what Legault is getting at.
Other EV failures this year,
Northvolt bankrupt, - Quebec
VW cancelled production, Ontario and globally
Stellantis cancelled production, - Ontario
Ford Motor stopped production, - Ontario
Billions of borrowed Federal and Provincial money gone!
Accountability please, please explain Mark Carney.
Carney approves progressive investment.

They should finish the plant and then electrocute the people responsible.

Money not so much lost as stolen.
