Correctional officers at a Quebec federal prison have intercepted more than $54,000 worth of hashish, steroids, and other contraband, adding to more than three-quarters of a million dollars in publicly announced seizures at the institution since 2022.

Correctional Service Canada announced Thursday that staff at the Regional Reception Centre in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines seized packages containing hashish, steroid tablets, tobacco and rolling papers on August 13.

They estimated the institutional value of the latest haul was $54,812.

The federal agency did not disclose the quantities of the drugs and tobacco seized or say how the packages entered the multi-level security institution.
