Alberta separatists face FIRST TEST + B.C. blocks pipelines?
Guest host Kris Sims is joined by columnist Lorne Gunter to break down Alberta’s looming byelections and B.C.’s latest pipeline roadblocks that threaten to deepen Western alienation.
On today’s episode of The Candice Malcolm Show, special guest host Kris Sims is joined by Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter to break down the upcoming Alberta byelections — and why they may be the first real test for Alberta’s growing separatist movement.
With former United Conservative insider Cameron Davies leading the charge for the Alberta Republican Party, voters in Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills will decide whether they still back Danielle Smith or want a more radical break from Ottawa.
Plus, Kris and Lorne unpack a major pipeline setback out of B.C., where new environmental regulations are being used to block major energy projects.
Is this more evidence that Alberta can’t rely on Confederation to get its resources to market? And what does it mean for national unity — and the future of Alberta within Canada?
Excellent show Chris. Was nice to see Lorne give his always democratic opinion. He has become a real icon. We have to face the fact that we are under communist rule. When the governments believe the money and resources belong to them and not the people, you have a communist government. That's where kanaduuh is at.
I have to comment on the car mandates coming . I think people are looking at this wrong . Of course this has nothing to do with the climate nor has anything that has happened nor anything really been done about the climate for the most part . It is a 60 year old farce but useful for the government to push through mandates because so many live in their basements . He is phasing out people driving at all . If you get rid the ICE vehicles most will not have the money to buy an electric car . They cost far more and then you have the cost to set up your home to charge one . Then you can not go far in a EV anyway . So most vehicles on the road will disappear and our economy will go through the basement . We have no idea what will happen to commercial vehicles and the increased cost of food and other products . Then removing the rest of the EV vehicles from the road will be easy through surcharges on having one and your hydro bill and limiting charging days . Since most won't have a vehicle there will be little sympathy for these people . One can not imagine the 3rd world country we will be living in .
