I agree entirely with Premier Smith.

That we are having a dispute on this issue is a sign of our sad, dysfunctional society.

Under what set of logic, or rules of common sense, is life-altering, surgical sex reassignment for children even being discussed? It pains me even to pose such a question.

Here's my take on the "why".

All political parties have their merit when operating at or near the centre of their stated philosophy. This practice leaves lots of room for negotiating with the opposition.

But when they maintain power for too long - by fair means or foul - they inevitably become arrogant, and begin operating at the extreme end of one political spectrum or another. They become accountable to no one.

This is where Canada is right now. At the furthest left point on the political spectrum we have ever witnessed. Our institutions, medical and educational included, are now dominated - at the top - by the extreme left. More than a decade of this de facto unopposed Liberal government has brought us to the point where we are actually performing "voluntary" sex reassignments on children. But you cannot use the word "voluntary" when it comes to children. You also cannot assign any arbitrary number, such as 15, to maturity. Maturing is not a digital exercise. How many people know someone who is still immature, into their 20's? There are a lot.

For those supporting this lunacy, you cannot equate post-puberty physical maturity with mental and emotional maturity. They are not the same.

Nice! I support Danielle in this 100%. Children should not be allowed to have life altering surgery or other medical interventions that will cause them harm.
