Alberta's proposed "Care-First" insurance system is facing criticism from the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, which warns the plan is short on details and offers no guarantee it will save Albertans money or protect the rights of those injured in accidents.

A statement by the group was published on Friday in response to the Automobile Insurance Rate Board's final report about the new insurance program, prepared by Oliver Wyman, which projected savings of up to $366 per vehicle annually.
