Alberta announced it will begin holding public consultations on introducing nuclear power to the provincial grid, with plans to have small modular reactors facilitate energy for its oil sands.
My vote would be a 'soft' OK for modular nuclear energy. My only concern, along with a caveat, is for safety. Having an oil refinery blow up is one thing. That's recoverable. Not so with a nuclear reactor. Witness the permanent damage caused by Chernobyl, and even worse, the horrible and ongoing catastrophe that is Fukushima. If you pursue this, choosing the right partners is of the utmost concern. One, quick recommendation. Without naming names, there is one organisation to stay completely away from, at all costs. Their initials are SNC Lavelin.
AI should be banned for their huge power demand. Should be banned anyway. Why do you need AI when we have large amount of unemployed and a huge inflow of immigration, who have no jobs when they land here. This AI thing is just adding to the deterioration of a successful society.
