Air Canada flight crashes into a fire truck at LaGuardia, killing two pilots
The fire truck was also destroyed. This is the first fatal incident involving an Air Canada flight in over 40 years.
An Air Canada flight from Montreal collided with a fire truck while landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport Sunday night, killing the pilot and co-pilot and sending 41 others to the hospital.
Fire services had been called to the runway after a strange odour was reported on United Flight 2384. Disaster struck when Air Canada Express flight 8646, a CRJ-900, was cleared to land on runway 4—the same runway where fire services were dispatched.
