An Air Canada flight from Montreal collided with a fire truck while landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport Sunday night, killing the pilot and co-pilot and sending 41 others to the hospital.

Fire services had been called to the runway after a strange odour was reported on United Flight 2384. Disaster struck when Air Canada Express flight 8646, a CRJ-900, was cleared to land on runway 4—the same runway where fire services were dispatched.
