The Canadian Armed Forces will be forced to wait until the year 2033 for a fully operational fleet of new helicopters to replace the decades-old CH-146 Griffons currently used to support special forces, according to government documents.

The Next Tactical Aviation Capability Set (nTacs), announced in 2024 to replace the CH-146 Griffon helicopters used by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 1992, will not be fully operational until 2038, according to an internal briefing obtained and reported by the Ottawa Citizen.
