After 17-bullet attack, Poilievre demands deportation of IRGC agents

The Conservative leader says Canada has become a target for Iranian-backed terrorism. He calls for the removal of IRGC agents and the listing of another Iran-backed militant group.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre visited an Iranian-Canadian-owned boxing gym riddled with bullets earlier this year, using the stop to renew his call for Ottawa to deport Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) agents and crack down on Iran-backed terrorist groups operating in Canada.

Poilievre sparred with cruiserweight boxing champion Salar Gholami at Saliwan Boxing, a gym struck by 17 bullets during an early-morning shooting on March 1.

Gholami has said he believes the attack was retaliation for hosting an event celebrating reports that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed during the U.S.-Israeli strikes that began on Feb. 28. No one was injured in the shooting.

“We’re going to fight the terrorists. We’re going to fight for Canada,” Poilievre said while training alongside Gholami.
