The race to lead the Conservative Party of British Columbia is heating up and Juno News is putting the candidates to the test.
On April 8th, we are hosting the first-ever B.C. Conservative leadership debate, bringing the province’s top contenders face-to-face at a critical moment in the race.
With NDP Premier David Eby’s numbers slipping and momentum shifting, it’s widely expected that whoever wins this leadership contest could very well become the next Premier of British Columbia.
That’s why this debate matters so much.
Originally, our event sold out within hours. When we first announced, the 250 tickets we had available were gone almost instantly.
Due to overwhelming demand, we’re expanding capacity with a huge new venue so more British Columbians can witness this pivotal moment live.
We’ve moved from the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam to the Anvil Centre in the City of New Westminster.
Above all else, we want to make sure Juno News subscribers like you don’t miss out!
What to expect:
All major leadership candidates invited
Moderated by author Lindsay Shepherd and Conservative MP Aaron Gunn
Tough, unscripted questions from the Juno News newsroom
Rapid-fire exchanges and in-depth policy debates
A defining moment for candidates to prove themselves
We’ve seen before how moments like this can shape a race.
In 2020, the Independent Press Gallery of Canada held a federal Conservative leadership debate. Erin O’Toole showed up, answered tough questions and won over voters while his opponent, Peter MacKay, backed out and paid the price with the base.
Voters were watching and MacKay’s prospects for the leadership ended that day.
And on April 8th, voters will be watching once again.
Attend in person or watch live

If you can’t make it in person, don’t worry, because we’ll be streaming the entire debate live, and syndicating it across independent platforms nationwide so Canadians everywhere can tune in.

April 8th will be a historic night.
The next Premier of British Columbia may very well be standing behind one of those podiums.
Don’t miss it.
See you there,
Keean Bexte, Juno News

This has turned into the most oppositional, undemocratic, woke mess in Canada. People in rural British Columbia like every province in Canada have no voice , because urban Canada has most of the vote and citizens of BC pay the price in jobs lost pacifying tree huggers and environuts that know about as much about the harvest and delivery of resources as a fence post. Rural B C like most of rural Canada pays the bills with private sector jobs and needs more of a voice like a lot of rural Canada. Natural resources pay the bills and bad government management problems create the deficits that taxpayers are saddled with in provinces all across Canada. A clean sweep right from B C to Newfoundland is required to get Canada back on its feet and made prosperous again.
Sorry Juno News. The BC conservatives are as fake as Doug Ford- probably even more woke! Its ONE BC for me! too cringe for me to watch this. I am a card carrying Fed Conservative and a BC resident. No one here is getting my vote!!
