17 men arrested in GTA extortion ring targeting South Asians
The majority of those arrested came to Canada from India on student visas and temporary work permits.
Peel Regional Police arrested 17 individuals as part of an international extortion ring in the Greater Toronto Area, the majority of whom came to Canada on student visas and temporary work permits.
“Overall, the 17 accused are connected to 24 incidents. Of those, investigators linked 16 violent incidents associated with For Brothers, including arson and multiple shootings that involved 324 rounds discharged,” wrote PRP in a release on Monday.
