Media reports reveal Global Affairs spent $135 million on vehicles and farm equipment for Ghana but failed to budget for fuel, parts or maintenance.
An internal report found the department “failed to provide necessary oversight” and identified “several areas of relative weakness” that undermined the program.
Taxpayers funded 3,196 motorbikes, 266 pickups and 16 station wagons, plus uniforms and boots for 2,305 agricultural agents, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.
